Early Years Foundation Stage in County Durham

New Year Opportunity for your Setting to join the Early Years Music Project!

The 2011 Early Years Music Project, ‘EYFS Practitioners Developing Creative Approaches in Partnership with a Musician’ was such a success we have decided that it must run again.

This exciting project aims to support practitioners to feel more confident in leading imaginative musical activities through the advice and guidance from EYFS colleagues and a Musician.

Places are available for eight nurseries to explore musical creativity linked to children’s interests. The project is enhanced through the use of music resources, network meetings and on site support from the music specialist.

Want to become involved?

Your setting does not have to be ‘musical’ - no one is expected to sing or play instruments but a commitment to try out new ideas is essential. The 2011 project was creative and diverse. Further information on the different innovative directions that settings’ developed is celebrated on Alistair Bryce Clegg’s Early Years Website abcdoes.typepad.com/

Please register your interest and commitment to the project to Helen Nixon with a brief explanation of why you would like your setting to be considered.

Email: helen.nixon@durham.gov.uk by 3rd February 2012.  Settings selected to be part of this project will be informed in February 2012.
