... 'L is for Sheep: Getting Ready for Phonics'

It's not new but is a good read, particularly with the current focus on phonics by the current government.

It's made up of short articles about phonics teaching by the following authors:
Ros Bayley, Helen Bilton, Lynn Braodbent, Marion Dowling, Margaret Edginton, Janet Evans (Author), Jennie Lindon, Judith Harries, Linda Pound and Sally Featherstone.

Also, this article from the DfE website for current messages around the teaching of phonics for Early Years Settings and school.

New to EYFS?

If you are new to EYFS, firstly welcome to arguably the most rewarding phase in education.

Secondly, we thought it might be useful to 'flag up' those documents that you really need to know about.

Everything on this site is appropriate for children aged from birth to five (and beyond)

Your statutory documents are the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and the assessment document for reception aged children can be found in the EYFSP moderation section.
